Get Going Quickly with Course Templates, SmartPages and SmartStyles
ToolBook helps you quickly create professional learning courses with Content Templates, SmartPages and SmartStyles.
Content Templates
Over one dozen Content Templates are provided for common types of learning such as compliance training, health care training, new hire training, soft skills training, sales training and more. All you need to do is pick a content template and enter your information. It’s that easy!
SmartPages
With SmartPages, you have access to over 40 page types found most often in professional e-learning courses. These pages already have the interactivity built-in, simply choose the pages you need for your e-learning course, replace the placeholder text and images with your own, and publish.
SmartStyles
SmartStyles provide the professional look you want for your course. SmartStyles are designed by professional graphic artists and define your course’s overall style and layout. You can even build your own custom SmartStyles that match a particular brand or look-n-feel.
Create Assessments
Choose from over a dozen different graded question types – including true/false, multiple choice, fill in the blank, matching, hotspot, drag-n-drop and more. With ToolBook’s assessment features, you can:
- Incorporate Flash, images and narration to add clarity to your questions.
- Provide feedback for remediation to user on a question by question basis or at the end of the quiz. Feedback can be text, audio, Flash and more.
- Brand your quizzes with your corporate logo and other branding elements
- Navigate to other pages, play Flash, or do various other actions based on the user’s test results
Turn your Microsoft PowerPoint Library into SCORM-Compliant Courses
With the ability to import Microsoft PowerPoint files into ToolBook, you now have even more choices when developing content.
- Quickly re-use existing PowerPoint content. Import the PowerPoint file into ToolBook as described in the pictures below. Then, add assessments, interactivity, media, and rich effects using ToolBook. For deployment, publish the content to the SCORM format using ToolBook’s Web publishing feature.
- Increase the involvement of your Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in content authoring. Instructional Designers first design a PowerPoint based storyboard, next a SME populates the storyboard using the familiar PowerPoint interface. Then, these PowerPoint files are imported into ToolBook as shown below. For deployment, publish the content out to SCORM format using ToolBook’s Web publishing feature.

Certificate creation

XML support
ToolBook’s new XML support also enables developers to repurpose content from databases or created with other authoring tools. Using XML, this information can be quickly converted to the ToolBook format, where it then becomes fully editable by ToolBook.

You can also develop your own custom interactions with ToolBook Instructor’s Action Event system. With the Actions Event Editor, you can create custom action sequences that automatically export to DHTML.
Software Application Simulation Creation
Use ToolBook to create realistic software simulations. ToolBook's software application simulation recorder and simulation editor help you develop effective, interactive simulations that automatically assess and record user performance through SCORM and AICC standards.
